Do you know in Paytm UPI, you can transfer money to the person’s bank account using his/her mobile number? Yes, if both sender and receiver are using Paytm UPI then you can use his/her mobile number and transfer money to his/her Paytm linked bank account.
When you transfer money through Paytm UPI to another Paytm UPI user then you don’t need to enter his/her account details or UPI ID. Just enter the receiver mobile number registered with Paytm UPI and transfer money to his/her bank account.
Please note, you can only transfer money using the Mobile number on Paytm UPI when the receiver using Paytm UPI and his/her bank account linked with Paytm UPI. If the receiver using another UPI application then you can’t use a mobile number for money transfer & one more thing, if the receiver bank account is not linked with Paytm then you can not transfer money.

So you are going to transfer money to another Paytm UPI user using his/her mobile number, please follow the below steps:
Step 1: Open Paytm application and tap on the UPI section.
Step 2: In UPI section, tap on the Money Transfer option.
Step 3: Next screen, enter the receiver Paytm mobile number which registered with his/her Paytm UPI, and proceed.
Step 4: If the mobile number id correct and the person using Paytm UPI then you can see his/her full name including Paytm UPI ID. If the person is correct then enter the amount and select your Debit account (Transfer money from your) and proceed.
Step 5: Now enter the UPI PIN to confirm your transaction. (How to change/rest Paytm UPI PIN)
Congrats, money successfully sent to the receiver bank account. You can see a successful screen. The amount will be debited from your selected bank account and credited to the receiver’s primary bank account which linked with Paytm UPI.
The receiver will also receive an SMS from the bank and Paytm UPI about this transaction.
So this way, Paytm UPI users can send money to the bank account using the beneficiary mobile number.

(1) What happens if the recipient bank accounts not linked with Paytm UPI?
Ans: If the receiver bank account is not linked Paytm UPI then you can not proceed for money transfer and you will get an error that the receiver not using Paytm UPI.
(2) Can I send money using mobile number on Paytm UPI if the beneficiary using another UPI application?
Ans: No, this is not possible. If the receiver is using another UPI application then you can’t use a mobile number for money transfer. In this situation, you need to enter his bank account details OR UPI ID for money transfer.
(3) How to know, the receiver whom I’m sending money is correct, how to verify?
Ans: When you enter the receiver mobile number, you can see his/her full name and UPI ID. So you can confirm before transfer. Make sure the receiver has shared Paytm UPI registered mobile number which linked with his/her bank account.
